Apprentice Applications
Apprenticeship applications may be filled out at the Local 5 office in Independence every Monday, except for holidays, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.
Applicants must:
– be at least 17 years of age
– bring a valid driver’s license or state issued I.D.

You can work in as many different jobs as your imagination allows. As a Union Craftworker, you could chose to be trained in any of the following trades:
- Bricklayer
- Stone Mason
- Cement Mason
- Plasterer
- Mosaic Worker
- Terrazzo Worker
- Terrazzo Finisher
- Tile Setter
- Tile Finisher
- Marble Finisher
- PCC
If you become a member of the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers, you will be trained by the best training system in the masonry industry! And it’s all FREE!
The International Masonry Institute assists the BAC with training centers across the country including the Northern Ohio Regional Training Center in Amherst, Ohio and the Southern Ohio-Kentucky Regional Training Center in Batavia, Ohio.
Pre-Apprenticeship Applications
Pre-Apprenticeship applications are accepted every Monday, except for holidays. The Pre-apprenticeship Training Program applications may be filled out at the Local 5 office in Independence, Ohio from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.
Applicants must:
– be at least 17 years of age
– bring a valid driver’s license or state issued I.D.

The pre-apprenticeship class lasts for 8 weeks and trainees are not paid.
